Power-Packed Smoothies

I have found so many yummy smoothie recipes that include vegetables.  What a fun and easy way of increasing your child’s fruit AND vegetable intake!  We’ve been having fun with smoothie tastings at health fairs and schools with our nutrition education project.

I had the opportunity to sample an amazing all-natural, raw fruit drink today called Sweet Heavens! Watermelon Juice from Brandi Rollins, author of Raw Foods on a Budget.  It’s so good!  You can find the recipe (basically, fresh watermelon and pineapple) at Brandi’s website.  Juicing is a wonderful way to increase your and your child’s fruit and vegetable intake.

Here is a website called spinachjuice that is entirely dedicated to juice recipes with spinach, and another with kale smoothie recipes!  Yum.
