We’ve been busy bringing nutrition education to children and families in our community. We had 2 family events in rural Pennsylvania this month, where we talked to families about eating healthy on a budget, and we shared tips on making mealtime family time. Adults and children were able to taste guacamole and a bean burrito…many tried these foods for the first time, and enjoyed them. Adults were great role models for children…many children were willing to try the foods because adults were trying them without a fuss. Families shared creative ways of introducing new fruits and vegetables to their children, including the “who will taste it first” game. We had a blast! We would like to thank our families and teachers who helped make these events a success.
